THE ROBERT OSWALD CORK SCHOLARSHIP
What is it?
The Robert Oswald Cork Scholarship is an endowment for students with disabilities in undergraduate and graduate programs. The scholarship is awarded to three students annually. To be eligible for this scholarship, the following criteria must be met:

Individual must be a Wayne State University student with a documented disability and registered with Student Disability Services

Individual must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or better

Individual must be enrolled as a full-time student during the semesters in which the scholarship is applied
What is the application process?
To apply for the Robert Oswald Cork Scholarship, students must do the following:

Complete the scholarship application linked below.

Provide your most recent unofficial transcript

Include a detailed personal statement in which you discuss how your disability has challenged you academically and how you have responded to these challenges, your financial need, and your accomplishments. Also include in your statement your personal aspirations and career goals and, if you have participated in disability-related issues, these should also be addressed.

Applications may be submitted anytime from September 1st to December 31st of the current school year. The award for which you are applying would be awarded at the beginning of the next academic school year. Submit your application, transcript, and personal statement to the Student Disability Services (SDS) office in person, by email or fax. Applications sent by email should be directed to jdeprie@wayne.edu with the subject: SDS Scholarship Committee. SDS fax is 313-577-4898. Applications faxed to SDS should also be directed to the SDS Scholarship Committee.
